"My moon" and the old ladies at McDonald's

Tonight, the boys and I went grocery shopping and to Wal-Mart. I decided to stop at McD's since it had been a while since Seth had been (and he has been asking for "chicken" (nuggets) a lot lately). Since Jon was working, I managed to get both Seth and Noah (in the car seat) in, our order placed and a seat secured (one I thought Seth would actually stay in) by myself. Now I remember why we don't do this very often with out Daddy! There were four older couples sitting at the tables beside us. I thought I'd go ahead and get some ketchup, and Seth did surprisingly well. No messes on the clothes! Anyway, the old ladies sitting beside us were laughing at Seth licking his ketchup off his fries and nuggets before actually eating them. I don't think they knew we could hear them, but I was trying not to crack up. Seth would take a lick of ketchup and look at them. Then another dip, lick and look. It was too funny!

After surviving supper and the trip to Hy-Vee and Wal-Mart, we were finally headed home. Seth looked out the window and said, "Moon, Mommy, moon!"
"Yep, that's the moon."
"Mommy's moon."
"No, Seth. That's not Mommy's moon. The moon was made by God."
"Yeah! My moon, Mommy."
I would dearly love to give him the moon, but it's not mine to give. I told him that God made the moon for us, but that He gave an even better gift, His Son, Jesus.
"Yeah, Mommy! My moon."
"Who made the moon, Seth?"
"Gah," Seth exclaimed. I'm not sure how much he actually understood, but I'm pleased to see that he gets excited over God and His creation.
